Instruction for the virtual eddy current testing device.

In the "Inspection" menu item, you will work with a device model that has certain features:

  1. Sensor positioning is performed by moving the mouse while holding the left mouse button.
  2. Using the [Sample/Part] button, switch to the test sample. Position the sensor on the defect line and use the [Amplitude ++] and [Amplitude --] buttons to set the desired signal gain from the sensor. The optimal gain is achieved when the pointer is at 9, the indicator light is on, and the peak of the time sweep is located between the two upper lines.
  3. Using the [Sample/Part] button, switch to the Part. When the sensor approaches the boundaries of the part, a strong background signal appears.
  4. Find the defect. Pay attention to the fact that at the edge of the defect the signal gradually decreases.
  5. Since positioning the sensor with the mouse is difficult, use the fine positioning buttons for more precise movement. Note that during fine movement you should monitor the coordinates Xmm, Ymm, which display coordinates in millimeters.
  6. The weld seam itself produces strong background noise. To eliminate noise from the weld seam, use the [Balance] button. When pressed, the current signal level from the sensor is taken as zero, which allows the readings to be cleared of unnecessary noise. The defect has a higher signal level than the weld seam.
  7. At any time, using the [Amplitude ++] and [Amplitude --] buttons, you can set the desired signal gain from the sensor.
